It will not have escaped you, the snow has been invited on most of the massifs since the beginning of November. If some resorts had to settle for the first layer of only a few centimetres, others already have enough snow to open their ski slopes now. Take the skis out of the cellar or attic, it’s time to put on your shoes!

Open ski domains in the French Alps this week

► TIGNES (Savoie / Domain open every day)
On October 19th, Tignes was the first ski resort to open. Since last Thursday, November 14, in addition to the tracks already open on the glacier, the mythical track “Double M” is also practicable. It allows skiers to enjoy a ski resort return ski. An opening in advance of 10 days compared to last year thanks to good snow and cold conditions. This “Double M” trail offers 1,400 meters of vertical drop to go down without moderation between the Grande Motte glacier and Tignes Val Claret.

► Les 2 Alpes (Isère / Domaine open Wednesday only)
After a first weekend of pre-opening on Saturday and last Sunday, Lans en Vercors is putting it back on Wednesday 20 November with 70% of the open alpine ski area open (snow depths: 40 cm at the bottom of the slopes at 1400m and 50 cm at the top of the slopes at 1800m).
Ski at “super” price: € 17.60 per day / € 14.50 per 4h.

Openings confirmed or planned for this weekend (Nov 23/24)
► ALPE D’HUEZ (Isère)
Alpe d’Huez is opening its domain early this weekend!
12 tracks will be opened via Signal, DMC, Rif Nel and White Hare. Day package at 25 €

► CHAMONIX (Haute Savoie)
Skiing is back! See you this weekend in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley for the first descents of the season on the Lognan Les Grands Montets area. 3 lifts will be open (Plan Joran gondola, Bochard gondola lift and Tabé chairlift) and 5 slopes will be passable (Bochard Haut, Bochard Bas, Marmottons, Rooster and Tabé).
Day pass: 28 €, weekend pass: 40 €.

The lifts are waking up, the staff is preparing between training and retraining, the whole ski area is being prepared! The opening decision for this weekend will be taken on Thursday.

Pralognan-la-Vanoise opens this Saturday, November 23 ski area to the Ski Clubs of the region. The cold weather of the last 2 weeks have made it possible to obtain good snow for the training of young pro skiers (mainly 8-14 years old). The Barioz slope, which provides ski-in ski-out to the resort’s snow front, is snow-covered over 250 meters long, 50 meters wide and 50 meters thick. A training corridor in the footsteps of local champion Sébastien Amiez.
For the general public, go on Saturday, December 21st for the first descents of winter!

► VAL THORENS (Savoie)
Without a doubt, one of the highlights of the season, a rendezvous now unavoidable: the weekend of the Grande Première to celebrate the launch of the ski season in Val Thorens. Some fifteen ski lifts will be open on Saturday (TSD Plein Sud, Funitel de Péclet, TSD Cascades, TSD Lac Blanc, TC Moraine, TSD Portette, Funitel Thorens, Carpet center station, TC Cairn, Funitel Grand Fond, TK Plateaux, TSD Moutière, TSD 2 Lakes, Water Plan.)

What about the following weekend (November 30 & December 1)?
